This treatment will not cure contagious bacterial infections such as strep throat.

 

How often should I do this?

As a preventative measure, once or twice a year as the seasons change in Spring and Fall is good.

If you are prone to allergies triggered by particular pollens - anytime they are about to bloom will help negate the symptoms or stop them in their tracks.

Whenever you start feeling "under the weather" with allergies or cold symptoms, before they get out of hand. 

Before flying.

After swimming in lakes or chlorinated pools.

 

One candling session usually is all that's needed as a preventative.
More than one visit a few days apart is advisable when you have more severe symptoms.
